PITCH HEADS NORTH: STYLISH GOLF AND LIFESTYLE BRAND EXPANDS TO MANCHESTER'S GOODS YARD

Stylish indoor golf and lifestyle hospitality brand, Pitch, has confirmed that it will open one of its unique venues in Manchester’s Goods Yard as it embarks on an ambitious expansion beyond London.

With ten state-of-the-art simulator bays, a custom club-fitting bay, a TRENDYGOLF Concept Store and even shuffleboards, Pitch Manchester will change the way the sport is played in the city centre when it opens in March 2025.

Priding itself on being so much more than simply an indoor golf venue – Pitch is a lifestyle hub that offers an innovative and social experience. Open seven days a week, several late-night DJ slots complement a relaxing vibe, with a food and beverage offering that blends tempting treats with a healthy day menu and delicious cocktails. Eliminating barriers that often prevent people from enjoying the game – including space, time and physical demands – Pitch venues make the sport more diverse and accessible to all.

Each Pitch venue uses high-tech simulator technology to accurately recreate the experience of real golf, where guests can receive teaching from qualified professional coaches or play for fun with friends. A variety of game formats are available across some of the world’s greatest courses – including the Old Course at St Andrews Links and Pebble Beach, California.

A sleek bar and kitchen serving refreshing drinks – including a wide range of expertly-mixed cocktails – as well as live DJ and the Asian-inspired ‘18 Greens’ menu make each Pitch venue the perfect spot to enjoy time with friends long after you put your clubs away.

Pitch Manchester will also be the home of the second ‘TRENDYGOLF Concept Store’ – which will open six days a week and stock popular brands such as J Lindeberg, Hugo Boss, Manors, Malbon Golf, Ralph Lauren and G/FORE – following the first such store at Pitch’s new Canary Wharf location.

The new venue will also extend the brand’s academy for beginner women golfers, in partnership with Adidas, which has proven successful in London with over 1,000 golfers.

As with all Pitch venues, a premium space will be reserved exclusively for use by members and their guests.

Pitch co-founder and CEO Elliot Godfrey said: “We’re very excited to open our first venue in Manchester at the start of 2025, giving Pitch a presence in one of the UK’s busiest cities and one with a special relationship with sport.

“When we began the process of expanding beyond London, Manchester was one of the first places we set our sights on, and it’s fitting to open our innovative concept somewhere that has always striven to be at the forefront of development and progress.

“Pitch venues are the perfect places for social gatherings, and it is a way of playing and engaging with the game that is open to everyone.”

Co-founder Chris Ingham added: “Enterprise City is the perfect setting for a Pitch venue and our new branch will become part of one of the UK’s best social and cultural hotspots when it opens.

“With a TRENDYGOLF Concept Store and no shortage of food and drink options, we envision this being a place where Mancunians can spend hours socialising, golfing and dining in style.”

The meteoric rise of indoor golf has been pointed to as one of the biggest driving forces behind current all-time high levels of golf participation across a wide range of demographics. In fast-paced urban environments, indoor venues such as Pitch are much easier to fit into busy social schedules and remove the need to travel out of the city to a local course, unlocking the game for new groups of people.

Joining Dublin and Birmingham as the first cities outside of the UK capital to open a Pitch venue, Pitch Manchester will add yet another string to an ever-growing lifestyle scene. The branch’s address in the Goods Yard is within easy walking distance of countless bars and restaurants, as well as a stone’s throw from some of the city’s thriving nightlife hotspots including Deansgate and Spinningfields.

Pitch Manchester will be the latest addition to Enterprise City, a stunning development creating a new cultural and social hub that attracts over 5.5m people per year.

Pitch started life in the heart of London, a short walk from London Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral, before expanding with two more venues in the capital: Soho and, recently, Canary Wharf.

There are plans to add another location in Brighton and even expand internationally from 2025, bringing Pitch’s unique blend of sports and socialising as far as Melbourne, Australia, and also in the USA.
