BIRMINGHAM JOINS THE PITCH REVOLUTION WITH NEW OPENING IN APRIL 2025

Stylish indoor golf club and lifestyle hospitality brand, Pitch, has unveiled plans to open a new venue on Birmingham’s Colmore Square as it embarks on an ambitious expansion plan beyond London.

With eight state-of-the-art simulator bays and a custom club-fitting bay, Pitch Birmingham will bring a new kind of golf and entertainment to residents when it opens in April 2025.

Priding itself on being so much more than simply an indoor golf venue – Pitch is a lifestyle hub that offers an innovative and social experience. Open seven days a week, several late-night DJ slots complement a relaxing vibe, with a food and beverage offering blending tempting treats with a healthy day menu and delicious cocktails. Eliminating barriers that often prevent people from enjoying the game – including space, time and physical demands – Pitch venues make the sport more diverse and accessible to all.

Each Pitch venue uses high-tech simulator technology to accurately recreate the experience of real golf, where guests can receive teaching from qualified professional coaches or play for fun with friends. A variety of game formats are available across some of the world’s greatest courses – including the Old Course at St Andrews Links, a venue named after the same apostle as Birmingham City FC’s home ground.

Pitch Birmingham will incorporate all the key elements of the brand’s success elsewhere, including an academy to help women get into the sport (in partnership with Adidas) and a premium space reserved exclusively for use by members and their guests.

Pitch co-founder and CEO Elliot Godfrey said: “With a rich history and large contingent of modern, forward-thinking residents, Birmingham was an obvious choice to open one of our first venues outside of London and we’re very much looking forward to bringing Pitch to the city next year.”

Co-founder Chris Ingham added: “We’re thrilled to have secured a location right in the heart of the action, with a huge choice of transport links, accommodation, restaurants and bars a short walk away in every direction.”

The meteoric rise of indoor golf has been pointed to as one of the biggest driving forces behind current all-time high levels of golf participation across a wide range of demographics.

In fast-paced urban environments, indoor venues such as Pitch are much easier to fit into busy social schedules and remove the need to travel out of the city to a local course, unlocking the game for new groups of people.

Joining Dublin and Manchester as the first places outside of England’s capital to open a Pitch venue, Pitch Birmingham will be the city’s latest in a long line of new lifestyle ventures. An eclectic range of bars, restaurants and hotels can be found within a five-minute walk of the new branch’s address on The Priory Queensway, while both Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Moor Street train stations are within easy reach.

Two of the UK’s most renowned golf courses sit just outside of Birmingham’s city limits: four-time Ryder Cup host The Belfry, which is also the headquarters of the Professional Golfers Association, and the Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club.

Pitch started life in the heart of London, a short walk from London Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral, before expanding with two more venues in the capital: Soho and, recently, Canary Wharf.

There are plans to add another location in Brighton and even expand internationally from 2025, bringing Pitch’s unique blend of sports and socialising as far as Melbourne, Australia, and also in the USA.
