INFINITUM PREPARES FOR ECCO TOUR AS SEASON OPENER RETURNS TO COSTA DORADA

Denmark-based development tour returns to Costa Dorada for 12 days of elite competition

Anticipation is building on Spain’s Costa Dorada as INFINITUM prepares to welcome back the ECCO Tour for the Danish-based development tour’s season opener for a second successive year.

The INFINITUM Spring Series will be staged at the award-winning resort from February 21 to March 5 as a field of more than 150 professional golfers and elite amateurs with a handicap of 3.4 or lower compete over three 54-hole tournaments for a total prize fund of €150,000.

Underlining INFINITUM’s continued commitment to providing opportunities for golf’s new generation of potential stars, the competition will get underway with the ECCO Spanish Masters from February 23–25, followed by the INFINITUM Championship from February 27 to March 1, before culminating in the ECCO INFINITUM Series Final from March 3–5.

The tournaments will be played across the venue’s Lakes course – which is fully embedded following a major upgrade in 2024 – and a composite layout formed by the Hills back nine and the Ruins, providing players with a varied and demanding test early in the season.

The Hills back nine reopened to critical acclaim last autumn following an extensive renovation programme led by Dave Sampson of European Golf Design, marking the halfway point of a two-phase multi-million-euro transformation. The front nine closed in December, with major work planned over the coming months to elevate the course.

Joaquín Mora Bertrán, deputy general manager at INFINITUM, said: “We are proud to welcome the ECCO Tour back to INFINITUM for the Spring Series in 2026 and to once again host such a strong international field. Supporting the development of emerging talent is central to our vision, and it is always exciting to know that future stars of the game could be taking their next steps on our courses.

“With the upgrades to the Lakes Course and the reopening of the Hills back nine following an extensive renovation programme, our golf facilities are in excellent condition and perfectly suited to high-level tournament play. We look forward to delivering another outstanding series.”

INFINITUM’s standing on the global golf stage was enhanced recently as the award-winning resort joined the prestigious European Tour Destinations network. With a close relationship formed through successfully hosting the DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage on seven occasions and playing host for the DP World Tour’s ISPS Handa Championship in 2022, joining European Tour Destinations was a natural step to cement its association with The European Tour group.

Alongside its position in golf, INFINITUM is renowned as a high-end residential and real estate resort blessed with a picturesque location in the heart of the Costa Dorada, a stone’s throw from the glistening waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
