COWDRAY PARTNERS WITH AZALEA

Cowdray, a progressive, rural estate in West Sussex, has partnered with leading PR specialists Azalea to oversee a golf-focused marketing strategy following an extensive course improvement and redesign project completed in the spring.

Azalea and Cowdray will work together to promote the 18-hole championship golf course with its beautiful far-reaching views over the South Downs, new year-round par-3 course and state-of-the-art golf studio.

Media and golfers alike are encouraged to find out more not only about Cowdray Golf, but also the diverse enterprises across the 16,000-acre Cowdray Estate. These include a thriving farm shop and café, exclusive event venues including Cowdray House – with its 22 bedrooms and 110 acres of private garden – and an extensive holiday accommodation portfolio.

Cowdray is also world renowned as the home of British polo, with the highlight being the prestigious British Open Polo Championships for the Cowdray Gold Cup in July.

A key focus of Azalea’s brief will be engaging with local and national media to tell the unfolding golf story at Cowdray, coupled with the wider lifestyle experiences on the estate. Marketing consultancy and developing value-added partnerships will also form key strands of the working brief.

Azalea has established itself as one of Europe’s leading golf PR and marketing agencies since launching in 2006, working with world-class courses, resorts and tourist boards including Wentworth, Apes Hill Barbados, Al Zorah City, Costa Navarino, Quinta do Lago, The Exclusive Collection and the Madeira Tourist Board.

Tim Allen, Director of Golf at Cowdray, said: “We are excited to partner with Azalea to help us tell the story of Cowdray during this exciting period for the club.

“Recent investment has elevated and enhanced the golf facilities for our members and visitors, and we look forward to working with Azalea to tell our unfolding story.”

Sean Noble, Managing Director of The Azalea Group, said: “Cowdray is a venue we at Azalea know very well due to its proximity to our head office and enduring reputation in the region.

“We are delighted to be working with Tim and the team to showcase the golf and leisure experience available to all visitors to Cowdray.”
