Associates from Trump Turnberry will begin the year’s fundraising efforts this month when they take to the streets of Glasgow for the annual Kiltwalk on April 30.
The ‘Turnberry Titans’ have been a mainstay of the event since 2015, donning kilts to raise money and awareness for the resort’s two partner charities: Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Last year, 19 members of the Turnberry Titans raised over £21,000 for their chosen charities after walking a combined 297 miles.
This year’s Kiltwalk signals the start of another busy year of fundraising events for Trump Turnberry, with the resort raising a total of £131,568.83 across 2022. The popular Ladies’ Lunch, which whisks guests away for a stunning afternoon of dining and entertainment in Turnberry’s opulent ballroom, will return on August 25. Later in the year, the resort’s St. Andrew’s Night on November 24 will conclude with an auction to raise money for both partner charities.
Complementing a busy calendar, the resort has introduced a series of other initiatives as it strives to make 2023 its most successful year of fundraising yet. The addition of ‘invisible chips’ and invisible golf balls in the pro shop will give guests more ways to donate throughout the year. Also on the horizon are a Winter Dip at Turnberry Beach and an open-air event that will bring the best of festivals to the Ayrshire Coast.
Ralph Porciani, General Manager at Trump Turnberry, said: “Trump Turnberry is more than a resort – it is also a vital part of the local community.
“Working to support our wonderful partner charities is always one of the most rewarding aspects of life at Trump Turnberry and, thanks to the team here at the resort, we have high hopes that 2023 will be another record-breaking year.”
Trump Turnberry has long been a pillar of the Ayrshire community, steeped in over a century of history. World-famous for its three golf courses - including the legendary Ailsa, four-time host of the Open Championship – the resort has earned a reputation as an icon of the sport and attracts thousands of tourists a year to its 192-room hotel.
