Trump Turnberry has continued a series of high-profile appointments with the addition of account director Paul Geica as the legendary Scottish resort builds on its status as one of UK golf’s industry leaders.
Geica arrives from LGH Hotels Management having enjoyed a successful three-year spell as area sales manager in charge of some of Scotland’s busiest hotels that saw him named the company’s top sales performer in 2021. His role at Turnberry will focus on building strategic partnerships and business development, utilising almost a decade of experience in hospitality.
Having earned a bachelor’s degree in sport & fitness administration/management from Constantin Brâncuși University in his native Romania, Geica moved to Scotland in 2014 and quickly advanced to an upper management position at LGH Hotels Management.
His pedigree in the hospitality industry makes him the ideal fit for a role with Turnberry’s iconic five-star hotel, which is widely regarded among the finest luxury hotels in the world.
Geica said: “It is a dream come true! I am thrilled to join the great team at Trump Turnberry, feeling privileged to be representing one of the most iconic resorts in Scotland and Europe!"
Jane Frazer, Director of Sales and Marketing at Turnberry, said: “We are all very pleased to be welcoming Paul to the team and feel he is the perfect candidate.
“Turnberry prides itself on consistently appointing exciting talent in every area, which is crucial to maintaining our position as a world-class resort. We do not doubt that Paul will be a valuable addition as Turnberry looks ahead to an exciting future.”
An institution of Scottish golf, Turnberry has attracted keen golfers and tourists alike for over a century. The resort is steeped in history, famously hosting four dramatic Open Championships on the prestigious Ailsa course - including 1977’s unforgettable ‘Duel in the Sun’, fondly remembered as one of the great matches in the history of the sport.
The Ailsa course, ranked by Golf Digest as one of the ten best courses in the world, is a unique and authentic links experience that challenges players to manoeuvre 18 testing holes as the mysterious Ailsa Craig looms out at sea.
The breath-taking King Robert the Bruce course complements the Ailsa perfectly, offering unparalleled views to thrill golfers. Meanwhile, the nine-hole Arran course provides a shorter experience to unwind after a day on the fairways or fit in a quick round with family and friends.
Turnberry is famed for its luxurious hotel, with an eclectic variety of rooms to suit any party. Lavishly furnished, each suite comes fully equipped to meet every need of its guests and can offer magnificent views of the famous golf courses and Ayrshire coast.
Activities ranging from horse-riding, falconry and archery are on offer for guests, alongside a selection of world-class fine dining options headlined by the signature 1906 restaurant.
Completing the line-up of facilities at Turnberry are a renowned spa, clubhouse hosting a collection of historic golf memorabilia and one of Europe’s largest professional shops.
