THE QHOTELS COLLECTION EYEING EUROPRO TOUR RETURN

The QHotels Collection is further strengthening its relationship with Europe’s leading developmental golf tour by signing a deal to become the official hotel partner for the PGA EuroPro Tour for 2022.

The decision comes following the successful hosting of the 2021 Matchroom Tour Championship, which bought last season to a thrilling conclusion at Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort in October.

The deal will last the length of the 2022 season and will also see three events from the EuroPro Tour schedule take place at the group’s resorts, including The QHotels Collection Championship which will see the Tour return to Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort on July 27.

Before that, the tour will pay a visit to two more of the QHotels venues as Belton Woods Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort and Telford Hotel & Golf Resort play host to the third and ninth events of the bumper 18 tournament schedule.

The players in attendance, including the winner, Jamie Rutherford, complimented the course as a “true test of golf” and were clearly impressed with it held up against both the elements and the significance of the event.

As well as providing a platform for brilliant golf to take place, the venues of The QHotels Collections also come with stunning four-star hotel facilities, giving players and guests the chance to enjoy plenty of relaxing downtime before the heat of competition takes over.

The Tour has continued to grow into 2022, with a huge playing field of competitors and more than £1,000,000 in prize money, further boosting the prestige of The QHotels Collections role as official hotel partner.

Daniel Godding, PGA EuroPro Tour CEO, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with The QHotels Collection for 2022, and know that they will provide a fantastic series of events in which the players can not only experience some stunning golf courses but can also enjoy the quality of hotel facilities that the group has become known for.”

Keith Pickard, The QHotels Collection’s golf, leisure, and spa director, said: “The hosting of the Matchroom Tour Championship was such a fantastic success, that it was a fairly straightforward decision as to whether to take the relationship with the PGA EuroPro Tour further.

“The players who attended Slaley Hall in October were all a joy to host and really made the best of the courses features. We can’t wait to see what amazing shots they can make out on the groups other Championship approved golf courses.”
