HowDidiDo, Europe’s largest online golf community, has partnered with former LET professional Sophie Walker to bring a new digital learning experience to the app’s largest audience since its inception.
The online platform – which gives golfers the chance to analyse their game, view latest golf news, book competitions and view results, track their handicap, as well as chat to other like-minded enthusiasts – has seen its numbers grow to a record amount amidst the UK golf boom.
HowDidiDo is among many other golf outlets which have seen a positive increase in activity following the coronavirus lockdown after the sport’s popularity soared to new heights, with a record number of page views on its website and users of the app increasing by more than 50 per cent in the last 12 months.
The past year has seen the platform grow by 179k to almost 800k users – with nearly 100k of those joining in the last two months and showing no signs of slowing
down.
The app is also seeing a massive rise in the number of competitions being held at golf clubs across the country, despite the differing lockdown conditions, with more than 2,000 competitions every weekend for the last month being hosted through ClubV1 and published to the HowDidiDo app.
Always looking to enhance the user experience, HowDidiDo is constantly making improvements and introducing new features to increase interactivity and give golfers all the tools they need to improve their game.
A new feature that is set to go a long way in doing that is the launch of the HowDidiDo Academy, which is hosted by experienced Tour professional Sophie Walker and will provide all members with weekly tutorials. These tips will delve deep into every aspect of a golfer’s game and will offer them insightful
guidance for free.
Already proving a hit, the academy has seen 3,000 golfers subscribe in three months on YouTube and will also be available to access through a new blog section on the website.
HowDidiDo’s CEO, Richard Peabody, said: “It’s very exciting to see our platform, and the sport as a whole growing. We all know avid golfers become addicted to improving their scores and handicaps and our aim is to give them a user-friendly and intuitive way of keeping track, while helping them improve.
“Sophie Walker has more than 15 years’ experience at the highest level and is a welcome addition to our platform. There are a number of tutorials doing the rounds on social media but Sophie is an engaging, reputable professional who will connect well with amateur golfers, as she has a swing speed and playing style which many will be able to relate to.”
The HowDidiDo system, part of the solution offered to golf clubs by Club Systems International software, holds data from more than 122 million rounds of golf, along with handicaps, results and scores from nearly a million golf club members.
HowDidiDo allows members to analyse their game and compare performance with other players at their club or across the entire HowDidiDo network and is rapidly becoming the largest online social golfing hub in the world, with new, engaging and exciting content for golfers to enjoy. It is also used for official CONGU handicap and competition results.
HowDidiDo is Europe’s largest online community, with more than 750,000 club golfers from 1,500-plus registered clubs using the website or mobile app – which has recently exceeded 250,000 downloads – regularly across the UK and Ireland.
