PALMARES CONTINUES TRANSFORMATION WITH LAUNCH OF NEW SIGNATURE RESTAURANT

Palmares Ocean Living & Golf has moved to enhance the resort's renowned gastronomic offering, featuring signature cuisine based on local produce and the region, with the opening of a new signature restaurant, Preceito.

Led by chef Alexandre Cabrita, who won the coveted title of ‘Chef of the Year 2025’ in Portugal's oldest and most prestigious national cooking competition, Preceito embraces a philosophy that prioritises the produce and the natural environment of Palmares – where the sea, the Alvor estuary and the Algarve mountains find their place in a cuisine built from what the territory offers, respecting the seasonality and identity of the ingredients.

Retaining its deserved reputation for attention to detail that defined its previous path, the restaurant has reinvented its menu to present golfers and guests with gastronomy that pays homage to the Algarve: to its products, its authenticity and its way of life. With a more informal approach, Preceito, which is situated in the golf clubhouse, offers a more fluid, intimate experience more aligned with the Palmares lifestyle: a restaurant designed not only for special occasions but also for returning.

Among the standout dishes on offer are grilled squid with goat butter and citrusy cornmeal porridge, sea bass with oven-baked rice and coastal shrimp and veal tartare with smoked eel and cured egg yolk, one of Cabrita’s signature dishes. The experience is completed with desserts created by the award-winning chef, who uses ingredients such as carob, almond and fig leaf to evoke the Algarve in a modern and elegant interpretation.

The opening of Preceito comes at a key time for Palmares and is a further example of the resort’s vision and evolution as an integrated destination, where nature, sport, hospitality and real estate investment coexist harmoniously, reflecting a continuous strategy of growth and enhancement of the destination.

Launched as an 18-hole course in 1975, Palmares has established itself as an icon of tourism and golf in Portugal over the last five decades, developing into an integrated luxury resort with 200 hectares of panoramic views of Meia Praia and the Alvor estuary.

With facilities including a 27-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., an award-winning clubhouse, outstanding hospitality offer and Signature Residences, the Algarve resort is regarded among Europe’s leading golf venues and recently enhanced its reputation by joining the prestigious European Tour Destinations network.

Complementing its hospitality and leisure offering, Palmares also presents a distinctive residential component, with premium plots and Signature Apartments further elevating its appeal to those seeking investment opportunities or the prospect of living in a setting defined by more than 300 days of sunshine per year.

At the same time, the resort continues to invest in new infrastructure and complementary experiences, including areas focused on wellness and sports, such as padel and pickleball courts, a gym and a swimming pool. And further good times lie ahead with the sales launch of a new portfolio of the new Signature Residences III by RCR Arquitectes from this spring, seaview detached villas and the opening of the first JW Marriott hotel in Portugal in 2028 with its branded residences.

Palmares Ocean Living & Golf is part of the portfolio of assets managed by Details – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure, which is owned by Arrow Global and is the company responsible for managing its tourism assets in Portugal. Details currently manage 23 hotels, 13 golf courses, an equestrian centre and several dining venues.
