RAFAEL NADAL TO HEADLINE GOLF EAST MALLORCA’S ‘THE BATTLE OF STARS’

‍Tennis legend Rafael Nadal will headline a glittering cast of names from the sporting world who will gather at Pula Golf Resort for the 2026 edition of ‘The Battle of Stars’ charity golf tournament, which will take place in Mallorca from June 10-12.

The annual event – which will again be staged across Pula Golf Resort and Son Servera Golf Club, with Pula serving as the central host venue – has established itself as a standout fixture on the Balearic island’s sporting calendar, combining elite athletes, entertainment figures and amateur golfers in a high-profile pro-am format.

Nadal, who retired from professional tennis two years ago after winning 22 Grand Slam titles which cemented his legacy as one of the sport’s all-time greats, is widely known for his passion for golf and will be swapping serves for swings as he drives a diverse and internationally recognised field.

The Spaniard is set to be joined at Pula by a host of other top names from the world of sport including Pep Guardiola, one of football’s most decorated managers, who has won league titles and Champions League honours across spells with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Former Chelsea and Italy star Gianfranco Zola, current Spain national football team international Álvaro Morata, ex-Liverpool and Spain goalkeeper Pepe Reina, and renowned Swedish ex-professional footballer, Henrik Larsson are also poised to feature, further strengthening the event’s star-studded international line-up.

‘The Battle of Stars’ continues to raise funds in support of efforts to combat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and multiple sclerosis. Proceeds from the tournament are directed towards research and treatment for both conditions, reinforcing the event’s charitable mission alongside its sporting appeal.

Further participants from the worlds of sport and entertainment are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, with the 2026 edition set to deliver its strongest field to date. Sponsors for the 2026 tournament include golf apparel brand BRK, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, Fundació Mallorca Turisme and Inmobiliaria Sa Coma, alongside the Mallorca tourism board.

Pula Golf Resort, known for its championship pedigree and Mediterranean setting, provides the focal point for the event, hosting key tournament rounds and player activities.

Originally opened in 1995, the resort’s par-72 course was later redesigned by Spanish golfing great José María Olazábal. The layout has since hosted multiple professional tournaments, including events on the DP World Tour, and continues to be recognised as one of Mallorca’s leading golf destinations. Its role as host venue has been central to the growth and identity of ‘The Battle of Stars’, helping elevate the tournament’s profile year on year.
