THE GOLF ACADEMY AT TRUMP TURNBERRY REACHES NEW HEIGHTS
Trump Turnberry has unveiled its state-of-the-art Trackman Range and Trackman iO Simulator to cement its position as one of the UK’s elite golf academies.
The interactive radar ball-tracking driving range is now open for use by members and guests, while the bespoke simulator room - one of the most advanced golf simulation experiences in the world, with more than 300 iconic courses from around the globe – welcomed its first bookings last week.
All three Trump Turnberry courses are being accurately recreated in virtual form and will be available to play on the indoor Trackman iO Simulator over the coming months. On the 11-bay covered Trackman range, guests can enjoy a broad selection of activities including virtual golf, nearest-the-pin challenges and longest drive competition on the 32-inch screens.
The involvement of world-renowned Trackman, a leader in golf teaching technology for more than two decades, lends further quality to Turnberry’s stellar line-up of teaching and practice facilities alongside this month’s reopening of the legendary Ailsa course.
Renowned architect Martin Ebert, who masterminded the Ailsa’s acclaimed transformation ten years ago, returned to make further significant improvements across what is already considered one of the world’s finest golf courses. Changes are particularly evident on the seventh and eighth holes, where adjustments to the layout and green placement have taken the links drama to new heights.
Set against one of the most scenic backdrops in golf, featuring the Isle of Arran, the world famous Turnberry lighthouse and the Ailsa Craig, the Golf Academy at Trump Turnberry is one of the jewels in the resort’s crown.
Also opened on June 1 was an Academy café serving hot and cold drinks, alongside a range of food including toasted sandwiches and paninis - which will also be available when playing on the Trackman Range and Trackman iO Simulator. Situated in the Academy reception, the café features televisions showing select live sport and events.
Nic Oldham, General Manager at Trump Turnberry, said: “We want every aspect of the Trump Turnberry experience to be as good as it possibly can be, and that certainly includes our Academy, which is reflected in the numerous investments we have made in teaching and practice facilities over the years – none more so than this most recent development.
“Trackman is synonymous with quality and innovation, and their excellent technology gives us a fantastic foundation on which we strived to build the ultimate golf entertainment experience, complete with a great new café for guests. We’re very pleased with the new additions and with the Ailsa primed to reopen in the coming weeks the timing is perfect.”
Staffed by expert professionals, Trump Turnberry’s Golf Academy is a facility worthy of the Ailsa’s global reputation. The practice and teaching amenities also serve the acclaimed championship King Robert the Bruce course, which joined its more famous partner in the Gold Digest World’s Greatest 100 Courses ranking for the first time this year. Both courses are complemented by the Arran, and the Wee Links pitch-and-putt.
Guests who opt to stay on site can choose from a vast array of opulent rooms and suites in the iconic Station Hotel, as well as self-catering villas and cottages situated a short walk from the golf courses.
Alongside a trio of exquisite dining options, guests can indulge in the much-admired Spa at Turnberry or chase thrills – which range from kayaking and clay pigeon shooting to horse riding and falconry - at the resort’s activity centre, Turnberry Adventures.
