PIN VISION PROVES A HIT AT THREE ALTONWOOD GROUP COURSES
Surrey National Golf Club has become the third Altonwood Group venue to partner with Pin Vision, one year after the fast-growing golf GPS and course management system entered the UK market.
The popular venue, which boasts an 18-hole course designed by David Williams, was announced as Pin Vision’s newest partner club this Spring - after two fellow Altonwood Group locations saw great success implementing the service over the past year.
The Italian technology brand first collaborated with Altonwood Group at Westerham Golf Club, Kent, where it earned rave reviews and proved a valuable tool for society and corporate golf days.
Positive feedback led the group to implement Pin Vision’s offering at Woldingham Golf Club soon after, and the service is now also available at Surrey National following requests from the club’s members.
Pin Vision is best known by golfers for its ultra-precise GPS technology, which gives players exact distances to a flag or hazard from any point on the golf course based on regular input by greenkeepers.
However, the app – available on smartphones and smart watches – also offers a host of convenient and money-saving features for club managers, including the ability to communicate with players via push notifications and track statistics across the course.
Chris Madden, general manager at Surrey National Golf Club, said: “Our clubs were among the first in the UK to try Pin Vision, but after a successful trial period it was an easy decision to partner on a permanent basis and, more recently, to bring Surrey National into the mix – especially after members at the club requested it.
“Feedback from golfers at each venue has been very positive and it’s clear that Pin Vision is helping us add extra value to the experience for our members and guests.”
Luigi Goria, co-founder and COO of Pin Vision, said: “We are delighted that the Altonwood Group has chosen to bring Pin Vision to three of its incredible venues at the start of the 2025 golf season.
“We are always so pleased to hear that members have requested that their club try Pin Vision and would like to thank the team at the Altonwood Group for their co-operation.”
A total of 60 venues from across Europe have partnered with Pin Vision to date, including Ryder Cup host venue Marco Simone Golf & Country Club and ‘World’s Best Golf Course 2024’ winner The Dunas Course at Terras da Comporta.
