INFINITUM PREPARES TO KICK OFF ECCO TOUR SEASON IN STYLE
Excitement is building on the Costa Dorada as INFINITUM prepares to host the inaugural INFINITUM Spring Series – the curtain-raiser of the 2025 ECCO Tour – from February 21.
The award-winning Catalan resort will host a trio of 54-hole tournaments to kick off the Denmark-based tour’s season, with a minimum prize fund of €150,000 up for grabs.
Each event will see a cut after 36 holes, with only the top 45 players and ties proceeding to the final day. Players at all three events will earn points towards the Road to Europe Ranking, from which the top five players will graduate to the Challenge Tour at the end of the Nordic Golf League season.
INFINITUM Spring Series 2025 – Full Schedule
February 23 - 25 - INFINITUM Spanish Masters
February 27 – March 1 - INFINITUM Championship
March 3 – 5 - INFINITUM Spring Series Final – by ECCO
With nine holes of the Alfonso Vidaor-designed Hills course currently undergoing exciting renovations led by European Golf Design, ECCO Tour players will experience a unique composite of the Hills and Ruins layouts - as well as the championship Lakes, which underwent its own significant refurbishment in 2024.
Though not generally used for tournament play, the Ruins is regarded as one of the finest nine-hole courses in Europe and has earned a reputation as a stern test from the competition tees. Both the Lakes and Ruins courses were designed by two-time Open Championship winner Greg Norman and opened for play alongside the Hills in 2008.
Joaquín Mora Bertrán, Deputy General Manager of Golf, Beach Club and F&B at INFINITUM, said: “We are delighted to welcome the ECCO Tour and an incredible field of players for what promises to be 12 unforgettable days of golf. Just like with DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, we are huge supporters of developing golfers at INFINITUM and it’s always exciting to know we could be watching big future stars of the sport on our fairways.
“Our courses are in great condition, our facilities are ready and we can’t wait to get the series underway.”
Flemming Astrup, owner and Managing Director of the ECCO Tour, said: “After five years at La Manga Club and ten years at Camiral (now PGA Catalunya), we look forward to starting a new era with our Spanish Spring Series at INFINITUM.
“The resort and courses are perfect for our purposes. Interest from the players has been absolutely fantastic, with a full field of 168 players spanning 19 different countries. For the first time in 16 years, we even have players on the waiting list. We are really looking forward to getting the season started at INFINITUM."
INFINITUM is one of Spain’s most sought-after venues for tournament organisers and has been the home of DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage since 2017. Three-time DP World Tour winner and former Ryder Cup star Edoardo Molinari was victorious at last year’s event.
As well as 45 holes of golf, the resort is known for its highly decorated INFINITUM Beach Club - a three-time winner of ‘Europe’s Leading Beach Club’ at the World Travel Awards – as well as an acclaimed gastronomic line-up headlined by the coastal Flamma Beach Foodhouse.
