INFINITUM’S RENOVATED HILLS COURSE READY TO TEST DP WORLD TOUR HOPEFULS

Players to compete on dramatic island-green finale across opening rounds

INFINITUM is set to welcome the DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage once again this November, with competitors making history as the first to play a competitive professional round on the Hills course following its extensive back-nine renovation.

The 156-player field – including former DP World Tour event winners Eddie Pepperell, Marc Warren and Justin Harding – will tackle 108 holes of golf across the Hills and Lakes courses on Spain’s Costa Dorada from November 7–12, with only the top 20 players plus ties earning a coveted DP World Tour card for the 2026 season.

This year’s event – the seventh time Final Stage has been hosted at INFINITUM and the first of an extended three-year partnership with the DP World Tour – takes on added significance as the first professional competition to be staged on the Hills’ new-look back nine, which reopened in September after a major redesign led by Dave Sampson of European Golf Design.

The project represents the halfway point of a two-phase transformation at the award-winning golf and lifestyle resort aimed at cementing the Hills’ status as one of Europe’s leading tournament venues.

Among the standout changes is the completely reimagined 18th hole, now a striking par-four with an island-green-style approach set within a natural quarry. Other highlights include a new green complex on the tenth, reversed routing on the 15th and 16th holes, and extensive bunker and sustainability upgrades featuring Zoysia grass surrounds and Bermuda 419 fairways.

Joaquín Mora Bertrán, deputy general manager at INFINITUM, said: “We’re incredibly proud to unveil the back nine renovation of the Hills course in time for Q-School and to see it immediately tested under the highest level of competition.

“The new 18th hole in particular will provide a truly spectacular finale for players during the first four days, one that will challenge and excite in equal measure. It’s the perfect stage for a week that can define careers.”

The field will play two rounds each on the Hills and Lakes courses before the cut, with the final two rounds to be contested on the Lakes. The latter was itself the subject of an €1.5 million renovation last year.

Together, the twin renovations reinforce INFINITUM’s position among Europe’s most progressive tournament venues and highlight its ongoing commitment to both course excellence and sustainability.

Beyond its championship layouts, INFINITUM continues to attract players and visitors from across the world with its award-winning Beach Club, modern gastronomy, and exclusive real estate portfolio – all set within the tranquil natural landscape of the Costa Dorada.
