TRUMP TURNBERRY FURTHER STRENGTHENS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM
Trump Turnberry has announced the appointment of Ben Tomlinson to the post of Business Development Manager, further strengthening the resort’s highly experienced management team.
Based in London, Tomlinson will bring the legendary Ayrshire venue – including the Ailsa course, which will reopen following an extensive Martin Ebert-led refurbishment on May 1 – to an even wider audience across the UK, including through a wide range of bespoke corporate experiences and the exclusive Ailsa Club.
Tomlinson brings valuable experience at another world-renowned golf venue, joining from a three-year spell as a Golf Sales Executive at Ryder Cup host The Belfry Hotel & Resort.
His arrival follows the appointment of Debbie MacMillan as International Golf Business Development Manager at the start of 2024; MacMillan will continue to grow the Trump Turnberry brand overseas in conjunction with Tomlinson’s domestic focus.
Tomlinson is also a keen golfer himself, as a professional golfer and a member of the PGA.
Tomlinson said: “It’s an honour to be a part of one of the most prestigious and historic venues in British sport, and it’s an especially exciting time to join with the Ailsa about to get even better.
“Bringing this iconic resort to so many people, elevating it even further in the ranks of global golf, is a challenge I am very much looking forward to over the years to come.”
Nic Oldham, General Manager at Trump Turnberry, added: “We’re very excited to add Ben to our team and look forward to working with him to bring Turnberry to more people than ever before.
“Ben’s fine work at The Belfry made it clear that he was the right person to take on this key position at our resort and it was a pleasure to welcome him in January and get him acquainted with our entire offering.”
A venue synonymous with British golf, Turnberry is home to not only the four-time Open Championship host the Ailsa course but also the acclaimed King Robert the Bruce and highly popular nine-hole Arran, as well as a state-of-the-art Golf Academy.
Away from the fairways, the resort’s emblematic Station Hotel and surrounding grounds boast over 200 rooms, suites, villas and self-catering cottages. A diverse trio of restaurants headed up by world-class chefs serve locally sourced classic dishes from Scotland and beyond.
A haven of relaxation awaits at the Spa at Turnberry, which counts rare and innovative ishga treatments among an extensive menu; conversely, high-octane thrills ranging from kitesurfing and kayaking to falconry and archery can be found at the ever-popular outdoor activity centre, Turnberry Adventures
