Praia D’El Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort’s status as a favourite venue for travelling golfers has been further enhanced, with latest figures revealing its two courses to be most popular in Portugal outside of the Algarve.
The resort’s first 18-hole championship course, which was designed by Cabell Robinson in 1997, ranked first in terms of the number of rounds played in 2018 with West Cliffs Golf Links – which is managed by Praia D’El Rey and only opened two years ago – immediately behind.
West Cliffs is well on its way to becoming Portugal’s new number one and its growing worldwide reputation is borne out by the fact golfers from no fewer than six continents and 34 different countries – including USA, China, South Korea, Brazil, South Africa and New Zealand – visited in the last 12 months.
