Experienced golf industry professional to work closely with Troon team at Salgados
Algarve, Portugal (September 25, 2026) – Highgate, the multinational hotel management, investment and development company, has appointed Albert Docker as its new golf sales manager based at Troon-managed Salgados Golf Club in the Algarve, Portugal.
Albert brings more than 20 years of experience across golf, hospitality, operations, sales and relationship management and will focus on developing Highgate’s golf business, strengthening relationships with existing partners and identifying new opportunities in domestic and international markets.
He will work closely with Highgate’s commercial team and Troon, which has managed golf operations, agronomy, sales and marketing at Salgados Golf Club since August 2023.
He will support Esther Marijuan, vice president commercial for Highgate Portugal. Esther, who also joined the Highgate team earlier this year, brings extensive golf resort experience, having previously worked at two hotels located at Troon-managed golf destinations.

Troon, the world’s largest golf and golf-related hospitality management company, with the international division, Troon International, operating across 60-plus courses in more than 20 countries. was appointed by Highgate Portugal in August 2023 to oversee golf operations, agronomy, sales and marketing at Salgados Golf Club.
Since then, the club has undergone a programme of investment and operational improvements, including enhancements to the golf course, infrastructure and guest experience.
Salgados Golf Club features incredible natural views of the Algarve coast. Located near Salgados Beach and Salgados Lagoon Nature Reserve, the 18-hole course sits on the flatlands behind the sun-kissed sands of Praia de Galé.
