The Dalaman Golf Club hosts 2026 season finale on new championship course from October 20-22

The Dalaman Golf Club has made its debut on the international tournament calendar after providing a spectacular setting for the Balkan Senior Tour 2026 Grand Final – less than two months after opening.

Set against Dalaman’s striking natural scenery, the new 18-hole championship course provided a fitting stage for three days of international competition and golfing camaraderie, where players had the opportunity to combine outstanding golf with the award-winning hospitality of Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf.

The 2026 Balkan Senior Tour – which was organised in association with the Turkish, Romanian and Bulgarian Federations and featured The Dalaman Golf Club as the main sponsors – began in Istanbul in April, followed by events in Bucharest and Sofia before the ‘Race to Dalaman’ season finale.

Taking place from October 20-22, the grand final featured players aged 50 and above from Türkiye, Bulgaria, Greece, England, Germany, Romania, Northern Cyprus, Wales and the United States competing across four categories on the club’s new par-72 layout, which launched at the start of September.

Following three days of competition, Recep Turan claimed first place in the Strokeplay category with rounds of 74, 74 and 73, finishing on a total of 221. Phillip Evans took second place with a final score of 228, five shots ahead of Jason Hare who finished third.

With the final event in Dalaman completed, the Balkan Senior Tour’s 2026 season champions were also confirmed based on the cumulative points earned throughout the season. Evans’ second-place finish was enough to earn him the overall Strokeplay title while Eileen Brader lifted the trophy in the Gross Stableford category after also winning in Dalaman. Gelu Matei claimed first place in the Net Stableford A competition with Alparslan Kaleli completing the list of 2026 champions after taking victory in the Net Stableford B event.

Ümit Yaşar Atalay, general manager of The Dalaman Golf Club, said: “We’re thrilled with the response that we have received from players since launching, and hosting the Balkan Senior Tour Grand Final marks an important step in Dalaman’s journey towards becoming an established destination for international golf tourism.”

The Dalaman Golf Club director, Mitat Batır, added: “Welcoming this event so soon after opening has been a fantastic opportunity to showcase the quality of our new course and the wider experience available to visiting golfers. With our outstanding natural surroundings, modern facilities and the hospitality on offer at the Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf, we look forward to welcoming more international players and establishing The Dalaman Golf Club as a must-visit destination on the Turkish Riviera.”

The first golf venue to open in the Dalaman region, The Dalaman Golf Club offers international golfers an exciting new destination for year-round golf on the Turkish Riviera.

Situated just 20 minutes from Dalaman International Airport in an idyllic setting surrounded by pine forests, wetlands and an extensive Mediterranean coastline, the club has been carefully integrated into one of Türkiye’s most biologically diverse natural landscapes and is one of the most exciting golf course design projects to open this year.

Designed by International Design Group, the par-72 course measures 6,152 metres from the back tees (6,728 yards) and has been built on natural sandy soil using sustainable construction practices. Featuring sweeping, uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean, the layout incorporates 55 strategically positioned bunkers, significant elevation changes and 15 natural water hazards.

Alongside the course, The Dalaman Golf Club offers a comprehensive range of facilities, including a driving range equipped with the latest TrackMan technology, extensive short-game practice facilities and a striking new clubhouse.

Sitting alongside the club is the impressive Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf. Opened in 2009, the resort enjoys an enviable location on the banks of the Dalaman River, close to where the Mediterranean and Aegean meet.

The ultra-all-inclusive resort offers a choice of luxury accommodation alongside an extensive range of sports and lifestyle facilities, a private beach and a wide selection of bars and restaurants serving local and international cuisine.

Following its launch, The Dalaman Golf Club has unveiled an array of attractive stay-and-play four to seven-night all-inclusive golf packages that can be booked at the resort this autumn and into 2027.
